The Southeast Alaska Watershed Coalition (SAWC) is seeking a Communications Intern to support the Salt & Soil Marketplace. The Intern will work closely with the SAWC Local Foods Coordinator, Local Foods Director, market vendors, volunteer staff, and will be involved with all aspects of the market’s operations. The Intern will assist with weekly aggregation and distribution of foods and use communications to share market updates and to promote food security/local foods advocacy. The intern will use a variety of communication tools including design, graphics, social media, and writing for communications.

Each year we offer an opportunity for Southeast Alaskan artists to submit concepts for an annual market poster design. The call for 2018 call submissions is closed. Stay tuned for opportunity in 2019!

Consider becoming a volunteer at the Salt & Soil Marketplace! We love to have extra hands to set up and break down, help at informational booths, and to run cooking demonstrations during our distribution days. The market season runs April to October. Distribution in Thursday in Juneau and Saturday in Haines.
